Firepower Minis now carries the trickest all-aluminum slings. No need to run a 2-piece steel/aluminum bomb on the end of your crank, or use the monster steel one. These weigh a feathery 126g, compared to 148g for the 2-piece steel/alum ones, 720g for a stock steel one, or 340g for a max-lightened steel unit. Most of the "lightened" steel ones are quite a bit heavier than 340g, too...

Schematics and weights of stock and AGGRESSIVELY lightened steel sling. The average lightening job will NOT be near this light.

Brilliant idea! I am stuck on running a auto clutch in my street legal 50. But A friend with the same tak 106 kit has the special clutch with very little clutch weight on the crank and boy does that thing rev up. Have you thought about designing lighter clutch parts for the 50s?

It looks like it to me.....with a broached spline just as the steel ones but complete aluminum
I seen one yesterday and look super sweet.

If I didn't think it was the way to go, I wouldn't be offering you all a chance to buy them...

dumb question but can you explain what this does and the advantage to having a lightened one? I hear about lightened slings but dont really know anything about it

Well... Less weight on the crank allows quicker revving, and in most situations, makes you faster. Sammy Miller wouldn't care for one though

Mine's still a lot lighter than a lightened steel one, and a bit lighter than a 2-piece steel/aluminum one being passed off as "lightened". Those become 2 separate pieces way too often
