Re: Team vegas back up lxr for sale

yes, from that angle it appears to be a longer swinger than the 12/14 lxr has...
is it the 14/17 chassis or just a 14/17 swinger..
guess i'll have to ask when i call today..

who is this from pitster replying to this thread?
is there any other differences in the chassis between the 14/17 and the 12/14 besides the length of the swingarm??

Re: Team vegas back up lxr for sale

thats gay!! in description it says

2009 LXR 14/12
-Z 155 built with a custom 182cc kit
-Takegawa +R Superhead
-TB 28 carb
-Marzocchi Shiver forks with Air bleeders
-GPX Holeshot control
-Custom Vegas Graphics
-K&N Air filter
-Pirelli Tires front and Rear

i'd take that as being a lxr 12/14 not a lxr 14/17..

how long is this thing, i want a pitbike not a big bike..
i'll be calling them tomorrow to figure this out..
Gary from pitster, if your reading this contact me.. i know your off till monday, but your the only one who knew about this bike and handled the sale with me.. i was never told it was a big 14/17 chassis with smaller wheels!

These bikes are a real advantage on any track, why do you think ALL the top Pitster Pro riders go with the larger frame and swingarm. it handles better, has more rear wheel travel, and overall is a better bike, it is only about 1 inch longer. when we built the Vegas bikes , all he pros wanted this set up, Also we get so many request for it as well. IT is a 12 /14 set up just as the add states, this is one of the best of the bunch that was built for Vegas. You wont be dissapointed.

Trust me you'll be VERY happy with this set up! Matt showed up with these bikes at the MOM series and we won on them.

Re: Team vegas back up lxr for sale

i was looking at the specs for both bikes..
according to the specs the 14/17 is 1.25" longer that the 12/14 but by looking at pics side by side it just looks so much longer...

like i said it is what it is, i paid for it already on tuesday.. so when it gets here maybe it won't be as bad as i'm expecting..

After riding Pitster's Vegas race long frame/swinger bikes I can honestly say that I do not like them... By extending the length of the bike with both the swinger and frame, it increases the head tube/fork angle and gives very undesireable handling characteristics like diving in a corner when it should push and on the rebound of landing off of larger jumps headshake is TERRIBLE! Tank slapping is an understatement.

Having said that, the BEST set-up is this 17/14 frame with the 14/12 swinger.... that is probably the best handling bike I've ridden.

Now of course this is all very personal and suspension dialing can halp eleviate many of these problems but this is my .02.

Re: Team vegas back up lxr for sale

thats exactly what i am concerned about!..

if the length f's up the corner handling i'll look into the 12 swinger..

kinda sucks dropping 2,900 on a bike thinking it was one thing, and now not knowing whats going to be coming to me!

i have a track behind my shop, so it will get a good testing right away!

The handling is actually better, much better, I have the very first one and have always felt it gave me an advantage everywhere, whoops are killer, making adjustments in the air is easier, BIG jumps are clearly better.

As mentioned above how you set up the bike will make the difference.
But I think at this point you are getting worried about nothing, You should be listening to those that actually OWN one and not just rode someone elses bike.

hmm well lots the riders we have prefured this setup. ripple, sam yannitelli, adam chatfield, myself

its a great combo and IMO should be the standard setup

I have never gotten any headshake at all. maybe its just U??
