I'll look into the 15 after we run the 14 with the new rear.. see where we are on the track. Steel lines will be next, I have 2 weeks to have this built for the next race and would like to get him some practice time so I'm in the "must do" stage right now. 2.5 rear make a HUGE difference? We've been running 2.15 on all the minis for 3 years. |

The Dunlops I have are 100's thats what I planned on using front and rear. We've been racing 120's front and rear on 2.15's without any issue.

Plastics will be here next week, bars and controls this week. Hopefully the wheels will be here Friday. Waiting on Magik to do his thing with the graphics until we know all the sponsors for next season. It's going to be tough on him, he's going from a semi-auto pitster 125 to the KX. BIG learning curve. He's got no problems with the clutch or anything he's going to have Hell learning all new shift points and throttle control on the track. |

Yes 2.15 rims work just fine....... but the tires in question were designed for a wider rim set If your kid is gonna race 70/30 or just pavement look into lowering your stock suspension and having it tuned by your local FLAT TRACK suspension gurus Some of us have been doing this for years now.......... All the tech info is out there, semra.org has loads of info, IMHO i do not always agree with some of the statements........ Yes I race a KX65 with 2.15 rims 100% pavement or ICE Last edited by teddy; 09-22-2009 at 08:28 AM. | |

OK... Sprockets, Wheels, Tires, bars, grips and handguards are done. Wasnt too bad. The Rad Wheels are fantastic, very happy as always with the Driven Sporckets and Zeta bars and Guards. Went +1 front/-1 rear on the sprocket for starters. New black plastics wil be here next week. Things I didnt anticipate and went to war with: WTF do they glue stock grips on with? My good hell the throttle was brutal! I also didnt realise I would have to grind the chain guide off the swingarm to fit the wheel. Nothing really major but it did postpone getting a test ride. PICS! i have bikes with 2.15" and a 2.5" rears. both sporting the 120 dunlop. I like the profile on the 2.5" better. As for not needing more tire in the rear...I disagree entirely. I am spinning my rear coming off corners even with the 120...i couldnt imagine how much worse it would get with a 100 out back. here is a vid just for a reference of the pace that I run. In this vid I have totally stock brake system / +2 front sprocket / cannon 5.7kg rear spring / .43 kg front springs / FMF pipe and silencer / and the dunlops YouTube - prairie city kx65 7/18/09 |

The reason your spinning up has nothing to do with the tire or it's profile... your riding position sucks. Get some weight forward and get your body off the bike and you'll be far better off.
