Legal in NY

Im sure this has been covered, but ive been searching all day with no luck. Is it physically possible to legalize an XR50 in NY? I see it in other states but not new york. Albany,NY to be exact (i know NYC is semi-different when it comes to dmv/NY Inspections). Any info would be appreciated, thanks!

Re: Legal in NY

i know some people around rochester that have street legal dirt bikes. Not sure how they did them but I think they all have baja design kits on them. My brother has a wr426 street legal but he bought it that way. It was done in NY though. I think the dealer told my brother that the previous owner titled it street legal through another state some how and then I don't know if he transferred it to a NY title or what. One of the biggest pain in the a$$ things about living in NY is dealing with the DMV. I can't stand it sometimes.

Re: Legal in NY

yah downstate is a bit different. And yes we can put dirtbikes on the road with not much hassle. However a 50 is a whole new ball game. I know a guy with a honda ruckus on the road around here but that was street legal off the rip. I know what it NEEDS to be street legal, just want to know if anyone has done it and what type of hassle did they go through?
