You'll need a regulator to limit 12V.

For rear drum, you need this switch to activate the brake light.

For rear hydraulic, you may want this switch.

you could run off a ricky stator or swap out to a 12v china stator/flywheel on 12v motors
we can hook u up with a voltage regulator too

That's just the brake switch for the foot pedal to the rear brake. It'll work for any rear brake light.

Re: light kits?

That's pretty good. Does it include a battery?

I suspect none of the lights are DOT spec, but do they even check at DMV?

Re: light kits?

We can learn something from the Baja unit.

http://i25.tinypic.com/258tagm.jpg

- Top left is the regulator/rectifier.
- Top right is the horn.
- Middle left is a 10 cell 12V 700mA Nicad battery pack.
- Middle right is an inline mini fuse. <-- wrong. What is it next to the battery, below the horn? Could be the stop switch?
- Next to the headlight is the flasher.

You still need
- Wiring and connectors.
- 4 turn signals.
- Tail/brake light
- Foot brake switch
- Left handlebar control switch for high/low beam left/right signals and horn.
- Stator

Last edited by stevec; 07-15-2009 at 04:24 PM. Reason: Correction, mini fuse is hanging on top

BTW, Baja has an offroad kit for the KLX110. It's pricey.

Re: light kits?

I am building a crf 50 using a 1973 z 50 motor. I am wondering if I can run a baja designs light kit. My motor has points, what wiring harness can I use with this setup.
