Skid/Glide Plates

Are you track/street guys running glide plates?

I am trying to decide on a glide plate and was wondering what you guys are running on your supermoto minis. I plan on using my bike mainly on the street, so I don't really have any plans on ever casing it.. however, I want the insurance.. Think this CF plate will be good enough to protect my cases for my application? Also, does anybody know how it "clamps on"? I'd hate for $100 to just fly off..

CRF/XR50 Carbon Fiber LightSpeed Glide Plate - LightSpeed - Pit Bike Parts

Or.. Any other recommendations for a stock-framed crf50?
Thanks

THAT SKID PLATE IS THE $HIT! IT IS VERY LIGHT WEIGHT AND GOOD LOOKING. I BELIEVE IT BOLTS TO THE PEGMOUNT IN THE BACK AND HAS 2 TABS THAT BOLT TO THE HEAD THAT ALSO BOLT TO THE FRONT OF THE PLATE. THIS IS A GOOD CHOICE FOR SUPERMOTO, IT TUCKS UP TIGHT TO THE ENGINE. CARBON FIBER PARTS ARE JUST AS STRONG AS STEEL IF THEY ARE MADE RIGHT. LIGHTSPEED PRODUCTS ARE TOP OF THE LINE.

We run them on some of our bikes just incase something bad happens.

I made my own...... helps to have a fab/weld/paint shop and work with others with skills and CNC machines

Re: Skid/Glide Plates

Not me ..., it may not make a difference but as for me and that particular CF case guard , I'd like all the air flow I can get to the eng. as possible . So if I was to get one , I'd get the other carbon one .
