| Street Motard Build
Ok folks, I have been building classic Z50s and CT70s and now I have a CA street plated XR50. It is an older frame style but it has the VIN that the plate matches so that is what I have to work with. I want to build a mini sort of street fighter bike. I need to keep things fairly inexpensive. First thing - front and rear suspension. Where can I get acheap but decent disc brake front end? What kind of swingarms can I put on this old fram type? Help me plan this build..... |

Alright, this is what I have to start with. A 2003 XR50. The VIN and the licence plate are like gold in CA so I have to work with this stock frame. ![]() ![]() These are the two "donor" bikes. $200 for both and one actually runs. I want to take the forks, brakes, and swingers of of one of these. The rest I will probably trash. ![]() ![]() Gimmie some ideas. |

id say use the black wheels, the swinger and shock from the yellow bike and the forks from the black one. and grab the shifter on the yellow bike. I think u got all u really need maybe a few odds n ends to complete it. im jealous.

They were DMN pitbike forks. Shortened New triple clamps New dropouts to suit the radial mount calipers. Clayton |

I kinda favor the black plastics myself, they would give a street fighter look to the build except that your headlight plastics are white though they could be painted to match.

Progress is slower than my usual builds. I got the new front end on there. I don't the Baja Designs headlight setup. I want to put a proper round headlight on. The rear end is being sourced. I already have the tire/wheel that match the front and a new disc brake setup but I need a longer swingarm. I also need to fab a rear master cylinder bracket. |
