My Mood: | What tire and wheel size for my CRF50 Supermotard build?
Hey all, I am just finishing up the last componant of my supermotard crf50 roller and now need to do the wheels. Right now I have xr70 forks with a cr85 hub 28 spoke with a 4 piston caliper and about 9'' rotor. The front wheel is 1.4x10 and I only have the clearence on my caliper to go to a 10x1.60 on the front. So what tire should I run with this, size and brand? Also I will mainly be riding this bike on the street pretty agressive riding. As far as the rear goes I am going to be running a +6 G'Craft swingarm so I have been thinking about doing a 2.15x10'' rear wheel. So what size tire should I run on the rear. Oh and running a 2.15 rear wheel I shouldnt have any clearence issues running that with stock drum rear for the time being... Thanks guys, Just looking for some imput about my wheel combo im gonna be purchasing soon! |

110/90x10 in the rear should be good on a 2.15x10 inbetween a g'craft swingarm shouldn't have any fitment issues?

Why not run 12x2.15 front and rear? Then you could do 90/100 front and 100/90 rear. If you are running a 50 based motor I wouldn't go any wider. On stock crf50 wheels I run 10x3.00 tires, any more tire than this and they will be very pinched. You may be able to push 90/100-10 on a 1.6" front. Ideally... 1.5-1.6" wide rim normally usually uses a 2.5-3.0" wide scooter tire 2.15" wide rim is for a 90-95 wide tire 2.5" wide rim is for a 95-100 wide tire 2.75-3.0" wide rim is for a 110 wide tire 3.5" wide rim is for a 115-120 wide tire |

As far as the rear is concerned I am purchasing a WIDE G'Craft +5.5" Swingarm so I am pretty open to whatever width rim to put on the back. I just dont know if it will be a good handling bike if I have a 1.60 in the front and like a 2.75" wide rim in the rear. Will that make the bike handle worse if I were to put a HUGE wide wheel on the back. Or is the widest I can go benifit me reguardless? | |
