elka, ohlins, or fox float. best over all is ohlins, and the float and elka piggy back are pretty close.

Best "A" Style Shock... Ohlins w/res. Just bought one for my supermotard crf50 to mate up to my G'craft Best "MX" Style Shock ...Elka or Elka/BBR SuperShock (same shocks more or less and I have had great experiences with it on my BBR Framed Full Mod) Best Value "A" Style ...iShock. If your on a budget I would say just get a used iShock w/res. And if you want new just buy an iShock w/o res. I have also heard that those Kitaco 8 way adjustable shocks for the "A" style swingarms are awesome and hella bargain. I have just not rode one so can't say. If I was to build a new stocker or stock/mod I would get the Kitaco 8-way |

Fox float for the price, you will spend more for an Elka or Ohlins and its better than an iShock.

+1 for the FOx Float for an A-Style swinger on chinese or CRF50s......... We have been using them for PitbikeMX, Pitbike Ice, and Pitbike Roadracing.......... for 4 seasons! Same old shocks still killer performance Elka for the parralle swingers on the KLX110 |

That shox is fully adjustable! You set high or low sag, fast or slow rebound, compression is also adjustable. For ice we have to set it with fast rebound and 3 compression. 140PSI. Road race its middle for rebound, setting 4 for compression and 180psi. Dirt depends on how big of AIR we are gonna get etc... 150-190 PSI. Those are typical settings for a 180-210lb rider. |

What ever shock you pick, keep one thing in mind. Shocks depend on controlling oil flow. So the more oil the shock has the more range you can have it valved to. Most mini's run 36mm bodies. The better road race option is to find a 46mm body and have it sprung/valved to you liking. On the same note, remote resivoirs are a problem for shock tuning. As trick as they seem, the oil is required to traverse the length of the hose, making control that much more difficult. Better to stick with a shock with the res on the side. If you have the A style, Teddy knows his stuff. For the MX style swinger, your geometry is going to make the 36mm body tough to work with. Look for a 46mm the correct lenght and have it worked over or order set to your specs. |

Elka and Ohlins are most likely your best option for a true road race or minitard unit. both have a res off set......... both build to your application, but the ELKA seams to a great unit, we have a few dudes using them and they are soooooo sweet! Less $ than the ohlins thats the only draw back with the Ohlins...... but hey both are top shelf units. |
