Re: 192cc sprocket size

I think it all depends.. I have a 184V2 in a CRF stock frame.. I road race the thing and at some tracks I run a 15/35 others a 16/35.. Im on 10inch tires.. You want to be almost tapping out 4th gear on the longest straightaway on the track.. Once you have geared for that straight the rest will take care of itself...

I will be Des 4th '09, then our indoor racing starts, then I will be able to give better feedback.

How do you like that motor on your 50? Iam thinking about doing the same set up, to much power for a trail bike?

What bike/wheel size? MX, Motard, road race, ATC70 flat-tracking(They exist), CT70 street riding, Jr Speedway? These big 'uns are running in all those venues, and have for several years, each with substantially different needs

I didn't "invent" the 192 or even claim to, nor did anybody on this forum, or the coat tails they ride upon...

Long story short, there is NO correct answer to the incomplete inquiry posed, and any answer is a blind guess...

Re: 192cc sprocket size

to answer the question 17 up front / rear 35-41 depending on tracks
you want to be in third on most straights and only hit second in corners
hitting 4th on only the longer faster straights
also
set up so you carry third into most corners , not needing to go up a gear then back down wasting time

Re: 192cc sprocket size

32oz I love my 184 V2.. I have a Takegawa 124+R and some friends have the 138+R and it smokes them.. I have it in a STOCK 50 frame with BBR SP5s... I have a XR70 rear swing arm ( 1 inch over stock) and a 10.5inch shock... I am using 10in SAVA slicks with a douglas billet rear cause no 10in spokes will take 21HP for long.. It races aginst CR85s and 150Rs..With 21hp a CRF50 can sit beside or pull most 150Rs its cool.. It will wheelie in 4th some times if I powershift from 3rd to 4th.. And power wheelie 3rd anytime.. My 124 now sits on the shelf... It is longer than the honda engine so I did have to raise up the front 5mm and shorten my travel just a hair to keep the front tire from rubbing the head under HARD breaking.. Other than that its all good.. Going to build another this winter with the NEW YX bottom and daytona cover.. Getting the parts from Firepower when the time is right...

Got it. I'd start with one more on the front than you've been running.

I was clarifying the origin, for a buddy who doesn't read too well

Re: 192cc sprocket size

taz69 thanks for the info man, I think my next build wil be 184 V2. Do you think there will be any tire rubbing with a +1 frame? Do you have a pic of your bike I could see?

Re: 192cc sprocket size

I will take a pic and post it. With +1 longer frame you are golden... Wouldnt come close to cause a problem though.. And I run my tripple prettty far down on my forks to have the front as low as I can.. But a +1 frame no problem and anything I needed for mine I got from Firepower you will have to use a TB rear faceing intake to keep the carb location where your is now.. Use that intake and that motor will be awsome...
