Adjusting valves help!

Which tick mark is top dead center? There are two and I think my intake valves are tight...My bike hasn't wanted to start since I assembled it!

theres one on the head when you take the cover off and its to the left. On the actual cam sprocket there should be a circle im pretty sure.

Re: Adjusting valves help!

So I guess I am asking what tick mark to use, there are two direct opposite sides with no indication which one is "T"

Re: Adjusting valves help!

actually it doesnt matter. I was stumped with that too when I put my 88 kit in. The 2 are there just because half a turn on the flywheel is a full turn on the sprocket (If I remember correctly). So I guess just take off the flywheel cover and line up both of them. But either mark is fine to use.

The one clockwise from the other. First one's "F" for fire, then "T" for timing/TDC.

The "right" TDC is when the flywheel is coming up to T and the intake valve is closing. I've seen the cam sprocket put on flipped so the dot was on overlap.
