kawisaki boy, ill be transparent with you. China bikes are put together like a half fast trailer. they always loose nuts and bolts. im always having to lock tite all my crap. and even then i lost 2 screws yesterday. its terrible. i will never buy a china bike again. im afraid to ride my bike because of this kind of stuff.

Re: the biggest flaws in import bikes...

I got a couple 'Import Bikes' They're made by a lil company named Suzuki. My only complaint is that they need to work on frame design, they are too weak and bend like a dog leash..

Now, I know you meant CHINA Bikes, so I'm going to go with research and design/development all together. They always have tried to copy other countries/products/ideas without paying for or putting any R&D into it.

It's just like the new anti-pirating software "they developed" and forced manufacturers to use for a short time. They stole the code from another company, did no R&D and it blew up.

Not that any of that matters to big red, it's always been quantity vs. quality.

Easy. Hardware. Poor quality nuts and bolts.... overall mostly just grade of metals. If they stepped up the grade of steel and aluminum in their transmissions, nuts, swingarms...etc. They'd be fine. They're getting precision down pretty good, just poor quality metals keep hampering them IMO.

I think with better hardware there would be fewer complaints with things breaking and bringing attention to the bikes (just my thought) we just ordered a pister lxr 12" and were really impressed with it

The nut's and bolts are always an issue with china bikes, I think it's how their disposing of their unwanted lead now that they can't put it in childrens toys anymore.

If you know this then 5 bucks in locktite and a few hours will keep you happy in the china bike world.

Re: the biggest flaws in import bikes...

I say its the people that back up the bikes. Some people wont warrenty things even if they come with defects. Some chineese companys dont stand behind their products at all! Pitster and motovert are great. So are most distribuing companys like pax and staggs.

Re: the biggest flaws in import bikes...

Add bearings to the list! Its funny that no one has mentioned any design issues but china bikes seem to always to hammered about how crappy the geometry is.

So most of us can agree about materials mainly.

Re: the biggest flaws in import bikes...

Oh...how about tires, there gone in no time, if you don't manage to rip a hole in them. and the rubber valve stems...i think most of them are metal now but a while back they were all rubber and it didn't take anything to rip them off.

Re: the biggest flaws in import bikes...

I think the biggest issue with China bikes is people NOT getting what they thought they bought. Theres so much piracy and copied product that you can never be sure what your really getting.

I mean c'mon... Shivers for $400? While most of us know that you arent getting real Shivers for $400 a lot of people dont. How many different factories are making the "same" motor? You can get on the business to business websites and order containers of Pitster Pro X4's, SSR's and all the other "name brands". KTM's and many others are available as well. They arent the real deal but if you buy one of these fakes how do you know?
