Your float is stuck or out of adjustment.

No lube, you just need to set the float level properly and make sure it's not bound up.

All carbs will leak if the float is stuck or adjusted wrong.

Re: G2 moto r1 leaking gas??

like mentioned above, check the float level, but also check the float pin/needle. I've seen them leak due to varnish/gunk buildup around that pin. Just be gentle with it because there is a rubber coating around the head and sides of that pin/needle.

Also, make sure that the carb is sitting straight. If need be, loosen the clamp on the boot and rotate the carb.

Re: G2 moto r1 leaking gas??

ok i have tried everyone's input on here about this leaking gas. i cleaned the carb out again took the floats out and the pin cleaned it with air and carb cleaner. put it back together. then made sure it was level. The damn thing still leaks out of the over flowtube probobly a drop of gas every other 30seconds. you guys have any other ideas???

You need to adjust the float level. Take the float bowl off, hold it upside down and adjust the tab until the mold marks on the float are parrallel to the carb base.

Re: G2 moto r1 leaking gas??

One more option...though not as probable...
I have a Thumpstar with a gas cap that was cross-threaded at some point and it sometimes carves off little plastic pieces when removing/installing it. The pieces will sit in the fuel tank and can get sucked into the float bowl eventually. Mine was leaking really badly one day and I removed the float bowl and actually removed the drain screw on the 22mm carb only to find that the fuel drain screw would not seat all the way shut because the plastic pieces were holding it open a bit. I just removed the plastic pieces and it worked just fine. Any pieces of junk will do this, as you don't need to have a problem like my gas cap issue to cause this.

....just goes along with the earlier post about not being afraid to take things apart and clean stuff...
