| I bought a piece of junk
Normally I dont buy junk. I usually do my research and check something over pretty good before I buy it. But I gotta say this guy got me. I was blinded by a couple of goodies and now I'm the proud new owner of a Extreme 125cc bike with a aftermarket swing arm and some pretty beefy looking forks. He did tell me there was an issue with second gear. And there is. Doesn't want to engage into second. But the rest of the bike looks like it was slapped together out of parts just lying around on someones nasty ass garage. I need some carb help. What size carb should be on this bike. 125cc. It has a 22mm on it now, but it wasn't even bolted on tight and while cleaning it i found what looked to be someones left over salad from Burger King in the bowl and jets. What's the proper jetting for sea level? Next question, is there a benefit to running 10" tires? Would the bike handle better for an adult with a 14" front and 12" rear? Thank you for your time and help with my first Mini. Bill |

I would put a 24 or 26mm carb on that piece.

I was wrong it has a 12" front 10" rear I have it in my truck I'll go take pic and post it. I had to buy some plastics on my lunch break. I just couldn't handle the way it looked with busted up ones. It has a Mikuni Carb on it too.

If the carb that came on the bike looks like the one below, it is a 22mm Mikuni-clone carb that was standard fare for the Chinese bikes. The baseline setting at sea level was needle clip in the 3rd or 4th position from the top, a #100 or #105 main jet, a #17.5 pilot jet. The fuel screw should be 1-1/2 to 1-3/4 turns out from seated. Being that it is a fuel screw, you turn it OUT to richen the mixture, IN to lean it. |

The Mikuni-clones say Mikuni up top by the carb cap, and Mikuni T/A something on the side, they are not real Mikuni carbs. I don't know if there is vacuum at the hole you mentioned, are you missing the carb insulator that goes between the manifold and the carb flange? There should be a black plastic piece about a 1/4" thick that goes there. If you don't have the insulator, just make sure you put a thin light coating of grease on that o-ring to ensure a good seal when bolting up the manifold. |

I have that carb on my SDG 107, it is made in japan so I think it is a Mikuni. I thought the idle screw was an air screw, at least it acts that way. The hole is an air port for the idle air, and the screw closes off or opens the air passage.
