| import oil coolers make no sense. your take?
so the banjo bolt style oil coolers are NON radiator design and are more of a Heat sink design. even the Takagewa ones are a Heat sink design. The radiator design ones are hose clamp style hose's, more than enough for our applications.. I was thinking which way to go and I cant see the heat sink thing being worth a crap, So I ask you if you have experiance with either one whats your take on the design? heat sink style Radiator style. |

My bike, which im still trying to identify, is water cooled and has a radiator style. A few people have commented on Roost filling the fins, which i understand completly. so the heatsink style would be more effective for cleaning issues, but cooling wise. i dunno never used a heatsink type

Surface area is what cools. The extruded oil cooler more than doubles the surface area of the oil cooling part of the engine. That should be plenty more surface. The radiator style one is enough for water cooling an engine. Far more than you need for oil cooling. I would like to see something in between. Half the size of the radiator style and more of the ruggedness of the extruded one. Don |
