Hi all, I'm looking for a new engine for my pitsterpro x2 with 140 gpx So I was looking around and I found the new lifan 150cc and the daytona 150cc Which one is better and why, one thing that really matters for me is the clutch and gearbox. Thanks |

The Pitster 155Z has better numbers than either.

| Re: Lifan 150cc (daytona look) or daytona 150cc If I had the money and needed an engine I would be the guinea pig as you call it because I believe the engine is the best crate motor being built right now. I would have liked to seen a oil filter but besides that the motor look likes a winner...Heck the Dirtmax YX engine had been out almost two years with great reviews when I got it and found how flawed it was. But after some internal modification of my 160 I have not had any more issues with it.

| Re: Lifan 150cc (daytona look) or daytona 150cc The clutch in the GPX..the Lifan 150..the daytona 150....the YX engines...and the zonger all basically the same. Maybe you need to upgrade to the Kevlar plates and HD springs......you do understand you need to leave end play in your clutch cable or you will fry plates correct?

You also need to adjust the clutch when hot, not cold, it will expand and will take out the slack as it moves the pressure plate and backing plate apart and closer to the actuator, then when you park it, the next day it will have alot of slack, you then adjust it and when it heats up it is too tight and starts to slip and will smoke the clutch. always deal with a loose clutch until it is warm. as for the engine choice,, the PP155z will walk on both without trying, it is not new, as we have been testing them hard since last November giving out input and getting new samples, each one was better and better than the last until this final version was ready. They start easy, have great power, also have the newest version of the Molkt carb with a 6mm deeper float bowl. a better ignition and much higher quality castings (also the engine is made at the same factory as the Daytona) |

| Re: Lifan 150cc (daytona look) or daytona 150cc No, was made because of the stock clutch disintegrating dampers, stripped teeth, and broken baskets. There are piles of them littered throughout shops. Do a search on PM to see all the problems people had with the stock clutch and it wasnt simply a matter of using better plates.
