MotoVert Testing Results Soon

TysonB and I will be taking the new Verts out on a ride day at Haspin Acres in Southeastern Indiana on Saturday. Hope to get lots of pics and maybe a youtube Vid if someone teaches me how.

Tyson is supposed to pick his up in the morning from the shippers hub, mad dash to go over the bike, loctite and break in a little. Then its on the road at 7am and 2 hours later we should be riding!

I am very excited to ride somewhere other than my backyard!

Stay Tuned, results Sunday possibly...most likely Monday or Tuesday.

cant wait to see your results. I wish I had more people to ride with out in AZ, 110 degree heat scares off most guys.

Re: MotoVert Testing Results Soon

We had an absolute blast!!

These bikes were amazing, only a couple of problems, non of them being the bikes fault. Tyson scorched a oil line from the cooler that came in contact with his pipe, mine was getting ready to do the same. I have a litlle discoloration, but nothing leaking yet. Tyson also lost his rear brakes, they just stopped working, see what he finds out and posts on that.

It was very muddy at the beginning, but came right out of it later in the day. We rode some amazing trails, I was blown away by what these little pitbikes would ride up. Riding up these huge rocky, muddy, tree rooted hills was crazy. I struggled on the first one, but I got the hang of it by the 2nd-3rd one.

This is the Crew: Tyson-White Motovert 150 Lifan, Eddie2324-OGM 140SX, Clint-Pitster X4 and myself (Ty)-Black Motovert 150 Lifan.

All the bikes did great, Skip's is the best bang for the buck, $1085 shipped!! ITs a little smaller, but it did everything he wanted it to. He led through the trails most of the time.

I had so much fun, it was my first experience on these things not in my backyard. I could type foreverand tell ya more, but already in trouble with the wife...didnt stir her hamburger helper while she was in the shower...

I am so glad I got the Vert!

I know how you feel about the Motovert! Wait till you get it on a track and start pushing it, it'll just keep pulling. Once dialed the suspension is just as good as the engine and brakes. The bike is flat out great!

Tell your bud he has to bleed the brakes of all the China brake fluid. It's like a gray oily water that has no place in such a great brake system. I replaced mine with Sikoline DOT5 (Purple synthetic) and found when pulling out the old fluid their was a lot of air in the system. You need a vacuum bleeder to do it right but you will be amazed how much better the brake feel is.

Re: MotoVert Testing Results Soon

Like Ty said we had a blast at haspen, the bikes rev to the moon and there's no stopping them, blowing the oil line was my fault, I should have routed them better but I called Tommy at TDK he us to re-route the line and bypass the cooler and the bike still ran great w/o the cooler attached.

The rear breaks just need bled. I worked on it a bit today and Mazz is right on the money, I got most of the air out of them but didn't have time to replace the junk fluid yet but I will ASAP, so they work again.

These verts go through some serious stuff, I chewed through water/mud that I know touched the top of my front tire and the bike just reved through it, the thing revs like a two smoke, and the fuel tank will let the bike run for about 4 hours maybe 5.

These bikes freaking rock!

Re: MotoVert Testing Results Soon

skip the verts and get a ogm. lol, just kidding. the verts, pitsters, and ogms are all good. you will not be disappointed with either of them. it just depends on how much cash you want to spend.

by the way, thanks ty for the comment but what's up with no pics of my bike? it is always hidden. next time we go to haspen i'm gonna leave ur food out for the wild dogs to get.

Get that crap out of there ASAP, these systems aren't setup for DOT5. If you want to run DOT 3, 4, or 5.1 in either normal or full synth, great, but don't run DOT 5, it's a completely different animal.

DOT 5 is silicone based, and reacts badly if mixed with DOT 3/4/5.1 which are polyethylene glycol based. When the two meet, they form a gel that will clog up your brake system rapidly. Flush your system, and if you can, tear the master cylinder and caliper apart to make sure you get all of the mess out of there before you put anything back in.

Re: MotoVert Testing Results Soon

Thanks. What if I clean out all the other fluid and replace it with the DOT5 and make sure their are no other fluids in their? Or should I just swap it out for DOT 3?
How long do I have to get it out?

Re: MotoVert Testing Results Soon

I guess the real question is, why do you want DOT 5 vs DOT 3/4/5.1?

The big difference between DOT 5 and the others is it's not hydroscopic. In layman's terms, it doesn't absorb water. When you see DOT 3/4/5.1 turning brown, what you're observing is moisture being picked up by the brake fluid. With a system running DOT 5 that moisture still sneaks in, but now it finds the lowest point in the system to sit and rot/rust things up.

As far as how long you have, you've already got gel in your system. If you want to see this for yourself, get a container, pour in DOT 5, and then add in some DOT 3/4/5.1 and watch what happens.

If you want to spend big bucks on brake fluid, there are plenty of spendy full synth DOT 3/4/5.1 compatible options out there. I rather do periodic brake fluid changes and know I don't have water pooling in my brakes so I stick to good old fashioned DOT 5.1, although even that is overkill as I've never boiled the brake fluid on a mini even running DOT 3.

Re: MotoVert Testing Results Soon

Thanks for the info. Looks like I have some work to do tomorrow night.
The reason I asked about running the DOT5 is cause I already have it, it was on sale at the Honda shop for $2. I'll be going with the DOT3.

Dude I am so sorry, I will find a pic real quick and get it changed for ya

The last pic if for talking $h_t!!

Next time I am shooting one of those dogs so the rest will run off...They kept me up almost all night. That and the hillbillies with their homade bombs/fireworks. Deliverance has nothing on that place!

Seriously that OGM is a bad ass bike for the price, I was going to build my wife a bike, but I may just save my money and buy her one of those!
