ssr125 sb-a 124cc jialing motor, didnt come with oil cooler and noone said anything to me about it, i wont be racing but will be doing some trial riding and racing some buddys around some small wood areas, so do i need a oil cooler kit?

if your not going to run an oil cooler you need to make sure that your engine does not need an oil cooler in place to get oil to the head. i dont know all the names for these engines so ill try to explain it. speaking about engine from the top, facing forward. if there are two bolt heads that face forward on the lower right front of the cases, then you need to run an oil cooler. if you have these and do not run a cooler or some sort of line between them no oil will reach the head

if not, then you should be fine without one. but i suggest running an oil cooler. cooler oil temperatures are a plus, as is extra oil

well the bike is sold through ssr without the oil cooler. i dunno if that helps

then it probably doesnt need one. but just look for those two bolt heads down there and then youll be sure.

yeah they are like cheap insurance, expecially the chinese ones
oil temp is lower, and you more so it cycles through the engine less, and you have back up if you get a leak.

find one that will work and snipe it off on ebay late one night

I don't run an oil cooler on my GPX 125 engine... its fine with out it

it looks to me like you dont need one for that engine. you can still run one off the head with an oil plate.

I'll put it this way. That engine won't NEED one, but an oil cooler is always nice. Cool oil is a plus, most ways you dice it.

But you can run fine without it. Heck, I ran a 124SE engine without one and while it did get hot, nothing got ruined. It's just something extra that's nice to add on. No "need" by any means.

if you run hard longer than 15-30 min you can over heat with out an oil cooler
