Pitster lxr chassis bearing p/n list

I pulled all the bearings out of my LXR yesterday and thought I'd share the info with you guys. I purchased all the new bearings from E-BAY using the factory p/n and converting the measurments over to better quality bearings by VBX.

I didn't get the numbers off the wheel seals or the steering bearings yet, but I will soon.

How much of a difference would this make? Is it worth the money?

the bearings that come in them are cheap and blow out kinda easy. but the most important ones from what i heard to replace are the linkage bearings.

linkage ones have the most stress. i bought american ones also, and opened them up and repacked them with high grade grease. i just wish i could get a needle bearing set for the whole a-arm linkage setup.

i got all mine replaced from a local bearing guy here in riverside. napa has good shlt, theyll last. pop the covers off and pack BOTH sides. because I think in assembly only one side of the bearing gets packed. (NOT SURE) but did appear that way when i was greasin my new ones.

needle bearing needle bearing needle bearing

Re: Pitster lxr chassis bearing p/n list

There is no need for needle bearings in the linkage. All you need to do is replace the existing POS's with some high quality, high load bearings.

I gave the dimensions of the bearings for a reason. If you just match part numbers up to new ones chances are your getting a bearing that is only a "replacment". It may be made in the USA of slightly better materials, but it is still rated for a certian amount of load.

Go to the VBX bearing store on E-Bay and type in a bearing # from the above list and see what comes up. Only a few choices, right? Now type in the dimensions I listed for the same bearing and see all the different choices that come up.

Do you guys really believe that the parts guy at Napa hooked you up with anything other than what they had or could get fairly quickly. Hmmmmmmmm?

I'm not dogging Napa, I do business with them several times a day.

The bearings you guys got from them are good. I'm just stating the facts.

Do you mean VXB bearings? I see a VXB ebay store and their website that they sell VXB bearings.

Would these be the correct bearings:

Wheel Hub: 10 Bearing 6202-2RS 15x35x11 Sealed:Ball Bearings:VXB
Swingarm / Linkage: 10 Bearing 6001RS 12x28x8 Sealed:Ball Bearings:VXB
Linkage / shock: 6902RS Bearing 15x28x7 Stainless:Sealed:Ball Bearings:VXB
Lwr. Chain Rolller: 6900RS Bearing 10x22x6 Sealed:Ball Bearings:VXB

What about the wheel seals or the steering bearings? Do you have those sizes yet?
Thanks.
