porting TB intake

Hi there, I recently bought a 26mm oko carb kit, but the intake I bought is around 22mm in diameter on the head side, and is 26mm on the other. Is it possible to use a dremel cutting tool, and just open up the port to 26mm? or do you need to send it out, to get it done proper?

Re: porting TB intake

By Intake you mean the intake manifold?

If so; Dremel away......
There is no higher science involved in opening up a restrictive manifold.

While you're at it; try to accomplish that the intakemanifold(hole) and the intake port(hole) in the head line up to eachother as nicely as possible.
Using the gasket to check things helps.

Good luck.

Re: porting TB intake

the head intake port is already ported at 26mm, and yea I mean the intake manifold. I will try my best at opening up that intake all the way through to 26mm.

You Will Probably Have To Taper It. The Neck Isn't Big Enough To Go 26mm Up Into The Intake. At Least The Few That I Have Done It Would Be To Thin Or You Would Go Thru

Re: porting TB intake

Don't bother with the TB manifold if it's going to be too thin or break thru ...... Sell it ! Just bolt the OKO mounting rubber to your Lifan 140 manifold and run that if it's a 56-2 DC since it's already 26 mm all the way thru . You can port the Lifan manifold to match your head and carb using an el cheapo long shank ball shaped stone in a variable speed drill ..... use lower speeds to stop alloy from clogging the stones up and use a dressing stone to clean it up and keep it cutting evenly . Use the biggest stone you can fit into the stock bore without it jamming and it'll greatly help you keep things round .......

Here's a few examples of ported Loncin manifolds done as described above .......

Re: porting TB intake

I have an intake which is 26mm all the way through, but the rubber carb flange is to big to bolt onto that intake. How much would it be to have someone port/taper this intake for me

Re: porting TB intake

The rear O/D of your carb should be 35 mm ..... Akunar sells rubbers which fit the stock Lifan 56-2 DC intake ..... That's what we use in 26 OKO flatslide kits .
