SDG 107 compatible?

Whaat other engines have compatible internal parts with the 107 SDG motor. I'm in bad need of the tranmisson main shaft and I can't find anywhere online or dealership that sells any sdg internal parts. Any input?

Re: SDG 107 compatible?

You first need to find out if you have an 'old' or 'new' style gearbox and cases. The old style transmissions had stepdowns on one of the shafts where it went through the cases, and was a common break point. The repair was a revised case half, and a set of shafts without the stepdown.

The new style motors should be transmission compatible with Lifan 120s.

Thanks for the info. I see now that my engine is an old style gear box because the shaft does shrink down where it goes through the case and that's exactly where it broke on both the 107 engines that I have. But where online could I buy just the case half and the shaft. THis is exactly why I stayed away from chinese motors all these years cause you can't just go to a dealership or check a microfiche and buy what you need. Especially not where i'm from.

Re: SDG 107 compatible?

You CAN buy a 'fix kit' from SDG directly, but for what you'd pay for a case half and and some transmission bits, you'd be almost all the way into a 125 or bigger import mill to replace it outright with.

Re: SDG 107 compatible?

Thanks for all the help guys. I'm at my wits end with trying to find parts for this motor, and considering it's what i used to do for a living this is pretty lame. I just ordered a mainshaft and countershaft for a CRF50F to see if they'll hopefully work for this application. But any other input is more than welcome.

Re: SDG 107 compatible?

every bottom end part from any 15mm output shaft 120,125,138,140,pitster,rcm,lifan,jialing,krp,etc. except the left crankcase is interchangeable.if your right crankcase isnt broke you can drop in a 15mm output shaft bearing from any of the motors mentioned along with the tranny and kickstart gear train and your good to go.
