XY top end on Lifan daytona Style lowwer end?

Dont you think the KLX style top end on that new 150 Lifan bottom end (minus the long stroke) with the daytona style clutch would be buy far the best impot engine yet?
These dealers need to Get it Done!!!!

Re: XY top end on Lifan daytona Style lowwer end?

Depends on how you plan to ride it. For the street, I'd much prefer the longer stroke. For racing, I'd prefer the shorter stroke.

The Lifan 150 would be my preferred motor over the YX because I'd put it in a streetbike. Also, there is really no point in the outer rotor system on a dirt bike.

Just a dorky cam cover on a China pattern motor, with the cool clutch. The Lifan 150 is $1000 cheaper.

I think thats a Honda +R type head which would be good to on a Big CC engine with like a 55 to 57mm stroke and 57 to 60mm bore with the daytona style clutch.

That's a Daytona 'T-Rex' motor, either a 125 or 150. It's basically their stab at a Jialing 125 style stud spacing motor with a gussied up BVH.

Re: XY top end on Lifan daytona Style lowwer end?

Looks like a Honda +R head with crazy cam cover, but if they put bigger valves and redigned ports on the BVH it should be a great head, i mean the BVH are pretty good aready.

Re: XY top end on Lifan daytona Style lowwer end?

Where are you getting the +R? I see oblong tappet covers, but those have been around on Honda heads for ages. Think 3v heads, Polini 4v, older Takegawa Superheads, etc. AFAIK there hasn't been any mention of roller rockers on T-Rex motors. I don't think they went bigger than 27/23 on the valves either. I'll have to see if I can find the PitPro .pdf I had with the pre-availability announcement specs...

Being a Daytona/Chitona, it's going to be a spendy motor. For the cost you'd likely be able to build a +R headed YX150 or Lifan 160 that'd walk all over it, and still have cash left over, so for now I'm not all that excited about these units. The only interesting thing is the clutch cover, and now that Lifan's cloning it, the parts will eventually be available to mount it on other import motors.

Heck, you can do the conversion right now using a combination of a few Honda bits, a spacer plate from Xtreme, and your choice of Tak, Kitaco, or Daytona clutch covers.

Re: XY top end on Lifan daytona Style lowwer end?

oh i didnt know it was like that, Yah im talking Lifan daytona clutch with KLX stroke and top end so The XY with the Lifan Daytona style cover, thats what im talking about and still pretty cheap.

KURLON, Do you think that new lifan 150 is a good engine, i was thinking about getting one adding 28/24 valves, Z40, and port job, and a bigger high compression piston would be nice.

I haven't had a chance to play with one personally, so I can only assume they're no worse than the Lifan 120s I'm used to?

Re: XY top end on Lifan daytona Style lowwer end?

Hack i sent you a PM.
I really like the YX but i cant stand those GPX clutch cover, i mean i hate um, dam oil slings suck and they stick way out. If the YX came with the lifan daytona cover without sling id buy one today.

Its probably already being made, so im on the fence about buy either now, but how long till they come out with this combo?
Im sure SGR, or Pister have some idea.

THE 59MM stroke kinda sucks on the lifan to.
