| idling problems?
I just purchased a used ttr 50 for my 6 year old son. The question I have is how long do they take to warm up, the bike seems to take an awful long time and does not want to idle without the choke on. I am mechanically inclined so fixing it won't be a problem I just want to know if this is the norm before I take the carb off and what not. the bike is in fine shape other than that. Thanks guys.

first thing to replace is the flat rubber washer in the carb cap. 99% of the time they are over tightened from the factory and will leak and cause your bike to run like crap. Highly recommend you get a foam clamp on filter and bump up the main jet as well. Not only will it run twice as good as before, you wont have to worry about oil puking up from the crankase vent tube into your airbox...oh yeah, also check to see if that happened. your filter may be soaked in engine oil...
