My Mood: | ttr/crf engine swap
Has anyone tried to put one of the gpx 140 engines in a ttr frame? i just traded for a ttr50 and thought about building it but i have a ton of crf50 and pitster parts laying around. any thoughts, or suggestions?

i believe the ttr has 3 engine mounts while the crf only has 2. I know it could be done but if its worth it, idk. Give it a try though i think it would be interesting.

I havent realy looked at the ttr bike up close. I know i could weld and fabricate mounts but i was just wandering if it would bolt in with no problems. Reason i ask is i have a new gpx 140 out of my pitster that would be realy cool to install. Will the plastic off the ttr fit the honda frame? I work for a yamaha dealer and constantly get alot of s**t for riding a honda. Then there is the issue of carb clearance, exhaust, all that b/s

The plastic mounts are different on the gastank for sure and the pipe mounts are different to. the only thing that i kno will fit from a crf would be forks, handlebars, and wheels with crf brake and spacers. But deff keep updating if u build it I wanna kno how it turns out. |
