xr100.com builds up some pretty sweet 150's, spoke to them on the phone when I was considering it - supposedly they're really close on having their own custom frame available and told me to wait... Instead of buying a 150, and basically only keeping the motor and frame cause everything else needs to be replaced if ur going to race...and costing mucho bucks... wait for their frame - and build it up I decided to go with a cr85 with a ttr125 motor w/ 170cc kit. since you'll need all cr85 parts except motor etc... makes sense to maybe just start with that... but depends if ur going to race or not i guess. Doesn't look like anyone's into the 230, may as well go big bike if ur going to ride that i think. |

I had a stock 100, then put a take 117 kit in it. Then got a 150, then sold the 100 with the 117 and got a CR80 and put a 100 engine and put the kitaco 145SE kit in it. So the 145SE in CR80 frame is the best so far. The 150 is better than the stock 100 but is heavier. I really like the feel of it, it has a real big bike feel where the 100 has a mini bike feel to it. If you can't afford a conversion then go with the 150, the new ones have electric start now which is a plus. If you want a light bike go with the 100. |

The 150 with just the BBR 175cc kit and a carb is putting out around 15hp at the rear wheel. Not earth shattering, but super reliable and super easy to ride fast. I've tortured my 150 with pipe and rev box for over a year now and it doesn't even need a valve adjustment! I'm really impressed with the quality. It's not a CR or CRF MXer but it's super fun and super reliable! The 2005 and older models are good for 175cc bore kits. The 2006 model will take up to 225cc I believe which is closer to 18hp. EO is making those kits. If you check their site they have a dyno. Mike |
