| xr100 no spark
I have a 95 xr100 motor that has been sitting for awhile. It has no spark at all. Would it be the pickup for the stator going bad? What else could it be? I've changed the plug and checked all the connections.

clean off the pickup, maybe run some really mild grit sandpaper of the inside of it. How's the plug look? may want to run some sandpaper over that too. Check all your gapping. Not to doubt your expertise (I dont really know who i'm helping on the internets), but do you know how to test a spark? You have to ground the spark plug against the casing. and then kick start it. |

Yes I have tested the spark on the cylinder. I have cleaned off the ground and ran sandpaper over the pickup. I have tried a different sylinoid off another bike I had. I'm guessing the pick up just went bad for the stator. Is there anyway to test these without spending $100 on a new one?
