| xr100/yz85 conversion
hi everyone, my name is troy, first post here. grabbing a yz85 from a friend today. already have a 89 xr100 for the motor. its gonna be a stock motor for a bit, then im getting the kitaco 145 stroker kit. doing some planning, anyone have any ballpark jetting specs for the yz85 carb on the 145 kit? head pipe starting and ending diameters and final can diameter? and does the klx airbox boot flow enough ( incase the stock boot doesnt work) ? and i saw that daytona has an outer rotor kit so i can get rid of the points ignition. thanks in advance for any help. Details aren't set in stone yet $. I haven't had much feedback at TT. kind'a of a good thing, the "TT po po" frown upon personal sales. I've been holding off, on a small production run of plates. The last plate was a final proto type. I already have 10 CNC spun oil seals. Work'n with a machine shop for custom woodruff keys. To go from the smaller points style crank key way to the larger late model CDI. Similar to the Engine Only's keyway. My ORK was purchased from Tbolt for about $100. This backing plate is designed for Lifan replacement/Daytona style. However, the new one advertised on the Tbolt site, looks to be of the Pister Pro version? I have seen the Daytona style ORK on the SGR site sgr-usa.com As it sits, I'm Work'n on the funds for small production run. Kit will require: Lengthening the stator wires for CDI box Fabricate mounting bracket for CDI box Reroute wires pathway, behind the stock ORK's backing plate. Scribe new TDC on the flywheel. Kit will include: Flow jet cut Backing Plate All mounting hardware, accept CDI box brackets and hardware CNC oil seal bushing New Honda crank shaft Oil seal, and O ring Timing Degree tape/sticker for flywheel, 0-35 degrees TDC timing pointer for accurate timing adjustment Need some time still to pull all of this together. But, It's real close... I'll keep you/all posted. All the best with your Conversion build Last edited by gman; 09-08-2009 at 05:45 PM. |

Troy, I had an Xr100/cr80 conversion a couple years back. I had the most fun on that bike. Shoot some photos as you go. Kj |

its gonna be way more simple to run the down tube lower for the motor mounts. so thats what im gonna do. grabbing some tubing today. i already have the 1 1/2" for the downtube. i dont normally use 3/4" .095 or 7/8" .095 so off to aircraft spruce. and now im making an aluminum airbox as well as the tank.
