| I am an Impetuous Fool "Look at this. Look at what they make you give." Above is a quote from the movie The Bourne Identity but I use in the context of Honda Minis. You see, I began as a normal person with moderate mechanical abilities and an interest in full size motorcycles and scale models. I bought my first Z50 as a "scale model" of a full size bike to work on and fiddle with for mild amusement. No one told me that there would be brainwashing. Once the "model motorcycles" get into your garage, your life, and your cerebellum you start to act differently. From the outside friends and family members might consider some of your behaviour as irrational, or even dangerous, but to your mind everything is perfectly in order. Everything makes sense to you. You take orders from the small motorcycles in your garage now. and somehow, their completeness, their perfection, their position in the hierarchy of clutter is all that matters. It seems long ago (but has only been a week) since I bought my first ZB50. She is a fixer indeed and I have spent nearly every waking hour since the purchase in a semi-conscious state, planning the many things, the many rare and expensive things I would need to accumulate to accomplish this resurrection of the small mechanical god in the garage controlling my mind. But while I was sleep-shaving this morning I actually made eye contact with myself in the mirror and a glint of reality took hold for a split second and I began to emerge from my brainwashed fog. I tried to speak.....but it was no use. So I bought this on ebay. "Look at this. Look at what they make you give." |

Nice looking hybrid. Think strongly about upgrading the engine to a 4 speed manual clutch and stroking up to a 108. As that bike sits, you are looking at 50-55mph with the 88 kit installed on that bike.

It needs a pipe for sure. That M Racing pipe is on the list.

Damn, I saw the other pictures of that bike on eBay. That thing looks meticulously well built. The previous owner did most of the legwork for you. All you need is a pipe, 4-speed...and perhaps down the road, a 124 +R with Super Clutch to really top it off. But as it stands, it still is an amazing ride that easily holds its own with any of the high dollar machines seen here on PM.
