Monkey R Ride into Local Honda Dealership

I rode the Monkey-R 15 miles to the local Honda dealership to pick up my stator and other parts I ordered. When I order parts from these guys, they either don't have a clue, or act like I'm some loser because I am ordering parts for a CT70 or an XR50. Sometimes I have to prove to them that the parts I need even exist. I had come to dislike most of the guys that worked there. Fock 'em.

So today, I rode the Monkey in to the dealership through the open double doors into the showroom, I rode in 1st gear down the isle between the Hayabusas and the Goldwings to the parts counter, killed the engine, put the kickstand down and leaned on the parts counter. "I'm here to pick up the parts I ordered".

I rolled in there so fast, no one had a chance to say or do anything. One guy yells, Hey! and then........ the next thing you know I am the coolest guy in the world. There were people coming out of the woodwork to come check out the Monkey R. None of these guys had ever seen one. One guy says, "I have not seen one of those Monkey Rs for a long time (looking at the tank blazoned with Monkey R)" to which I said, "Well they never sold them here in the States. This is a converted ZB50". The guy clearly did not even know what a ZB50 was and said, "um yea, I know that". Okay.... Regardless, they now know why I order mini parts and I am friends with them now. I even sat at the sales managers desk and showed him Planetminis.com on his PC.

Anyway, I was able to order a ZB50 stator from this dealership instead of ordering a late model CT70 stator. Why, I hear you ask? The CT70 stator part#31120-GAN-671 listed over $115. The ZB50 stator part#31120-GS9-671 lists at $95. Notice they are the same part#, but the ZB50 lists cheaper.

The 15 mile ride home reminded me that I desperately need to get the forks re-worked. I'll send them off to RJP once the bike starts to get dirty from me riding it. Also, as I start riding more aggressivly, I cant lean too far into turns because I scrape my toes, even with those high rearsets. It's too bad because the little Monkey wants to lean-and-rip. I just dont want to rip a toe off.

Sometimes i ride my Z to work for a quick bite to eat, one time another kid who works there was like nice pocket rocket, i think i might have said something like i'm not pitching a tent right now if thats what you mean. and if i didn't i should have ahaha. seriously it's not a like Z is twice the size of a pocket bike or anything with a 4 stroke engine instead of a 2 stroke, jebus it's not that hard to tell the difference.

this used to happen to me alot even with rearsets. when you know you are going to rail a turn, ya gotta scrunch your foot and toes up sideways, like you are riding on the peg with the outer part of your foot. most rearsets are narrower than your actual foot.

Great story, you need a Video camera setup to capture these kind of moments.

I personally like mounting my Go Pro on my bike as it shows the lean angle better then on the helmet.
