Takegawa Clutch on Super Head + R

Just at the end of my PBR build. I rung in to a small problem, that stops whole build now.

I'm using PBR/ZB frame. The Takegawa 124 Superhead + R is in frame now. On top of the engine, where the clutch is, there is a small pully. That where the clutch cable attaches to. The frame is sitting on that pully, stopping it from returning back. So I can't opperate my clutch.

Dose anyone has a suggestion of what to do?

I think two of us did the same thing...I cut it off nice and smooth and relocated a bracket elsewhere. Worked fine for me. use the search...the other solution has pictures on here somewhere.

Are you talking about the clutch arm? Check pic.

My clutch arm is very close to the ZB frame. Make sure you install the clutch cable to the arm before you put the motor in.

Todd,

Push your arm down on the stud and you'll have another couple MM of clearance.

Re: Takegawa Clutch on Super Head + R

Chears guys.

So I have to attach clutch cable bore i put engine in to the frame. Do I need to set clutch cable also before engine is in? and do I need to sand anything down?

Oh by the way. I'm using Takegawa clutch cable that came with the engine. to me it looks far too long. Apparently the cable fits Monkey bike. If it fits to Monkey, shorley it will fit to ZB/PBR ?

I'm pretty sure I'm using the same cable and bracket. I'm using standard NSR clutch leaver. I would have to wrap the cable around somtjing in order to take up slack otherwise it too loose. Even if the cable adjusted on the bracket to the last setting.

How are you conecting your cables?

I don't have that return spring on the clutch bracket. Is it necessary to have?

Re: Takegawa Clutch on Super Head + R

so if i take the spring off, then put that little gadget a bit lower 3-4 mm should be fine for the clerance between my frame. It should work right? It not going to brake half way down the road?

Re: Takegawa Clutch on Super Head + R

I had a similar issue on my zb with a lifan 138. The clutch arm touches the frame when engine installed. After fitting the cable and mount, the clutch works great and engages like it should. I thought i would have to cut a box out of the frame and reweld but that wasn't the case. I lost a little bit of freeplay but everything is good. Hope this helps
