Blew up first gear today while starting my bike.Had about 800 miles on it.Been using a Take 5 speed.
Any thoughts on what to use next.Think I need to get away form the 5 speed.I have the Take clutch kit and the 115 cc super head kit .Whats everyone thoughts about a 3 speed or a 4 speed.
Not sure if I saved the orinal trans or lost it with hurricane Ike.Thanks for all the good advice over the years.the bike is ridden a lot on flat ground no hills around here.

Thanks Z. More than likely will buy a couple first gears and rebuilb.I really like the 5 speed.But what do think about the Take 4 speed Classic Honda sells.
Ratio is close to the 5 speed I have.I think I have the tour trans.Do you think there will be the same chance of breaking first gear as often with a 4 speed?
Just throwing out thoughts.Dont really have a place to rebuild the motor yet and not sure what tools I have lost.Big bike went under water and is I C U.Just need something to ride to keep from gong crazy.
