Flat black looks good. Here's 31 pages of color combination ideas. I like the Bronze or Gold frames as well with red bodywork. 1987-1988 Custom Monkey R, RT and ZB50 |

if you like pink go with pink. it's all to your taste. in the end you're the one who has to ride and look at it. i like flat black as well. can't go wrong with it. |

If you're going with a black frame. My suggestion is to paint the tank a color other than black. And, if the wheels are going to painted/pc'd a non metallic color, I don't think they should ever be brighter than the vehicle. Last edited by EddieNewYork; 02-19-2009 at 10:11 AM. |

I did semi-gloss black on my frame. I like it better than flat black. To change it up a bit, I vote for chroming the stock wheels.

you said you wanted to get away from the stock look then stay away from the red wheels. I think a flat or semi gloss frame with gun metal or a gold color would look good

ZB frame lesson I learned....The ZB has 2 steering stops built into the frame on each side. Always measure how close your fork tubes come to the gas tank on both sides when the bike is assembled. Make sure they are some what even on both sides. Some ZB's were used as dirtbikes (bikes have been hammered) and I have seen some steering stops bent back so far back from numerous drops that will allow the fork tubes to hit the tank. You do not want to be trying to bend back a steering stop especially after you just got your frame done. I had to use a huge BFH to get it back in place and it wasn't very easy to move. tmas |
