Flat black looks good.

Here's 31 pages of color combination ideas. I like the Bronze or Gold frames as well with red bodywork.

if you like pink go with pink. it's all to your taste. in the end you're the one who has to ride and look at it.

i like flat black as well. can't go wrong with it.

If you're going with a black frame. My suggestion is to paint the tank a color other than black. And, if the wheels are going to painted/pc'd a non metallic color, I don't think they should ever be brighter than the vehicle.

Thanks Shawn, haha... yes, and I love black on black, but not necessarily on spar frame bikes.

Edit: no offense to anyone who has a black on black ZB. That's just me...

To polish the zb aluminum hubs would be a ton of work, The grooves in the hub would be very hard to do.

The chinese have already done that
Skyteam pbr SE

The older SE version had a gloss frame and a matt black tank.

Re: Zb 50 Frame Color

I did semi-gloss black on my frame. I like it better than flat black. To change it up a bit, I vote for chroming the stock wheels.

Re: Zb 50 Frame Color

you said you wanted to get away from the stock look then stay away from the red wheels. I think a flat or semi gloss frame with gun metal or a gold color would look good

The wheels are steel and the hubs are aluminum so you would want to polish the hubs to a shine and have the 10" steel wheels chromed. I could see it costing $100 plus a wheel... easy.

Re: Zb 50 Frame Color

ZB frame lesson I learned....The ZB has 2 steering stops built into the frame on each side. Always measure how close your fork tubes come to the gas tank on both sides when the bike is assembled. Make sure they are some what even on both sides. Some ZB's were used as dirtbikes (bikes have been hammered) and I have seen some steering stops bent back so far back from numerous drops that will allow the fork tubes to hit the tank. You do not want to be trying to bend back a steering stop especially after you just got your frame done. I had to use a huge BFH to get it back in place and it wasn't very easy to move.
