Re: pitster guys in utah suck

I think this is the engine that first the box came all by itself totally destroyed ,, empty, unrecongnizable,,, then quite some time later the shipper found what was probably at one time an engine( not a pitster engine either) it was basically cases and top end and assumed we might need it as we were puzzled to the contents of last months box, then at some point a box came with some other misc parts, at that point we started to figure they might all belong to someone, soon after we were contacted as to where "my" engine was, we explained that most of it was finally found after a description was given, we would see what this other brand engine would take to get working. At some point the owner of said engine called and totally unloaded on one of the office personel , using all kinds of language, that engine and repair was refused and returned, In a much better packaging than it came in. Sound familiar?? might not be this same one??

Hint,, if you need an engine repaired, try and use something more than just a box, and only a light sided thin box at that, try some packing as engines are heavy and sharp! plus the shipper might not care what you are sending,,,, might even follow up a tad bit sooner than months to help track down all those crazy parts sent in wornout used boxes. Then when YOUR shipping mishap causes issues and confusion, try and treat those you want to help with a little repect and they might just be able to sort it all out? after many many engine repairs, I think this might have been the only truly crazy one ??

Before shipping, you need to realize what shipping is really all about. Every shipping outfit out there has implicit instructions for packaging, especially for delicate or heavy items. If you don't follow the instructions and recommendations, that's really not their problem. Their primary concern, is that the shipping label makes it to the final destination. If the box happens to remain attached, that's cool too. As far as the contents remaining with the box, that's entirely dependent on your packjob.

Whenever you ship something, pack it to withstand at least a dozen drops from waist height and onto concrete....'coz that's what's probably gonna' happen. Things get dropped, stacked-on, they fall off of conveyors, pallets and hand trucks, etc. I'm not raggin' on the shippers, it's just the facts of life. They move a lot of freight every day and they have to hustle. They can't be too gentle or get tied up with searching for loose items and repacking the 40#s of stuff you managed to cram into an old cereal box. It's up to you, to follow-up on the shipment. They're shippers, not babysitters.

My dealings with "the guys in Utah" have been few as a new customer but despite my relatively low-dollar purchase, I can honestly say I was treated like one of their top investors. I've never seen their high level of enthusiasm for customer/tech support, from any of the "big 4".....not even at the dealer level.

Actually one of the guys you went off on was one of the bosses( company owners realitve), and when you went off on him, over and over , that was it. You also talked to another person there as well trying to sort out the rest of the missing stuff. When we talked it was while figuring out what was going on with most of the engine. again, NOT a PITSTER engine and an older engine as well, so all the parts would need sourced out and that takes time .

You are totally wrong about Pitster. They have went out of their way to help me....and both Matt and Gary are men of their word. Sounds like you need to spend some money and just buy the new Z155 from Pitster.
