I am looking at getting into the pit bike scene and was looking for some advice. I originally was looking at Chinese pit bikes until the XR/CRF50 caught my eye. I have owned 2 dirt bikes before(74 Honda XL125 and 89 YZ125) so ridding isn't foreign to me. I am having trouble finding any used xr50s, it seems they are either already modified or somewhat expensive. I am looking to just mess around in the backyard and around town, not going to go crazy jumping/stunting. I just want something to play around on. That being said, I convinced myself to get a CRF50, but I don't know where to start price wise. I am most likely going to buy early next spring, and I would like to know what you guys paid for yours(if you bought new). A buddy of mine has an 07 XR(or CRF, I don't know what year they switched) 50 and all he has is stronger springs and high bars on it, and that's basically all I'd wanna do for now with it. If you guys could give me your OTD price, or point me in the direction of some good classifieds(already using craigslist), I'd appreciate. I think they MSRP at my local dealer for $1395? Thanks!
