| 150F powered 150R?
Anyone ever think about putting a 150F motor in a 150R chassis? Why not run it with the 150R motor you ask? Not legal in any pitbike classes unfortunately. I've been thinking about an '03-'05 150F motor-- (because it's a kickstart motor. I hate the electric start) in a 150R chassis. I think the 150R has more room than a CR85 chassis. especially by the tank. I'd rather have a 150F than an XR100 motor because it's so expensive to get an XR100 to pull halfway decently. Anyone like the idea? |

I haven't seen it done, but I have seen several 150f engines stuffed in CR85 frames. I've seen several 150f's with CR85 forks installed, which would be a lot easier. Personally, I'd love to have a 150r as a playbike. Also, I just saw a CRF150r for sale on EBay yesterday, with a blown engine. |

I'v Seen XR200 conversions but not a 150CRF. Basicly the same size engine..... The 150R engine cradle in roomy... Your right about the tank, a much better option than the CR 85 tank and chassis From SocalXR's web site. CR85/200 conversion If you recall,Dirt rider mag did a artical on DMC 85/200 chassis conversion a few years ago. ![]() The first XR100/CRF150R conversion. XR4 rider at TT ![]() This bring ups another engine conversion. What about the KLX/DRZ 125/200.. The Swing arm pivot would be a big issue wonder how close the KX swing arms are to the CRF? Possibly could machine the KLX's engine cases down? |

Yeah... My friend has that bike. I talked to the guy about it, but I really didn't have the chips at the time to buy it. I will have to race against it too-- on a stock motored 110 with mild suspension mods. That's what sucks about Vet, is that if you can build a monster bike, you can do well in the class. Actually-- that's pit bikes in general. --L*64 |
