| 2007 or 2008?
Hey guys, I am buying a CRF 150RB for my girlfriend and I was wondering if there was any problems with the 2007s? I dont really like to buy the first generation of any bike but I have worked in the industry for 4 years and havent heard anything bad about them. Obviously I would like to get the 2008 model just because it is newer but Im not that worried about it. I am more worried about if the 2007 had any major flaws they fixed in 2008. any input would be awesome! |

Take the 08 because it is newer and will be worth more down the road but if you can get a great deal on the 07 take it, unless it's used because the previous owner could have beat on it.

The '07's had cam recalls, swingarm recalls, and jetting issues as said by alot of different magazines, and shown by my friends bike.. haha. I would go with the '08 if i was you.

the only recall there was on the 07 was the cam, it didnt even need replacing though if you didnt want it to, but if you want it done its free.

all 2007 and most 2008 150r/rbs have a cam and swingarm recall. when buying a bike it really doesnt matter if the recalls have been done or not because u can get them done for free from ur local dealer (or any honda dealer). the 2007 and 2008 bikes are just about the same, the '07 may have more jetting issues, but u can always work them out. like mentioned the 2008 may sell for more in the future. |

the stock jetting may work well with your conditions (id really suggest going richer on the pilot and did u buy the bike new, if not how do u know if its stock?), but for most it doesnt. my 2007 crf150rb runs perfect around 60*f with low humidity, but not like it stays that way year round and with these touchy carbs most likely ur gonna have to throw another pilot or main jet in it (1 up or down) with the changing seasons. | |

bought my bike new, im around sea level here in illinois and it runs well all year round, have never changed a jet or adjusted the screw, needle position, etc... yeah i see what you were sayin but i didnt want him to think he had to get an 08 to get a well-running bike, just wanted to let him know how my 07 runs and have no hesitation in buying an 07 and saving all the money he can in this economy u kno |
