Replace the piston 1 time a year. They last a lot longer than 3 rides.

Hmm "once a year" that biggest hog wash I ever herd of I have well over 70 hour and know there some other that have way more then I do something like in 200 hour on 07 the piston and rings should last way more 200 hours.

i kno 110s and 150r's are totally different.. but why dont you just wait till it blows up and then do a top end? why waste 150$+ on piston and whole topend when theres nothing really wrong with it.. My 110s smokin and leaks from the base gasket now and im just gonna run it till it blows then build it again.. Get the money out of hte top end before you touch it.. i think atleast.. |

| Re: how often do you have to change the piston on a crf 150r Let me clear things up. When I said once a year I was assuming he actually rides his bike unlike some people. In one year I probably have about 100 hours on my bike so thats when I replace it.

ive got the 07 rb, picked it up used last july, i try to ride every weekend and (assuming it had the stock piston in it when i bought it, pretty sure it does) im still on the stock top end. i plan on doing piston and rings when either theres soot on the inside of the air box boot or i just decide to go ahead and do it. i change my oil filter every time i change my oil - every 3-4 rides. p.s. nice bike |
