Replace the piston 1 time a year. They last a lot longer than 3 rides.

i kno 110s and 150r's are totally different.. but why dont you just wait till it blows up and then do a top end? why waste 150$+ on piston and whole topend when theres nothing really wrong with it..

My 110s smokin and leaks from the base gasket now and im just gonna run it till it blows then build it again..

Get the money out of hte top end before you touch it.. i think atleast..

Are you some sort of dumb c*nt! let it blow up haha if it blows up it will cost alot more than $150 he is better to just replace it when he notices a drop in compression!

Let me clear things up. When I said once a year I was assuming he actually rides his bike unlike some people. In one year I probably have about 100 hours on my bike so thats when I replace it.

Re: how often do you have to change the piston on a crf 150r

ive got the 07 rb, picked it up used last july, i try to ride every weekend and (assuming it had the stock piston in it when i bought it, pretty sure it does) im still on the stock top end. i plan on doing piston and rings when either theres soot on the inside of the air box boot or i just decide to go ahead and do it. i change my oil filter every time i change my oil - every 3-4 rides.

p.s. nice bike
