KX100 shock on CRF150F?

Anyone ever tried this? The length is right-- 15 inches eye to eye, and the big thing is that the res isn't as far forward on this shock as it is the 85/150R shock that guys have been using. This would give it a little more clearance between the frame rail and the res. --L*64

Re: KX100 shock on CRF150F?

I need to make a conversion like this as well. My bike is a 2003, so the resivoir issues I read out with the electric start bikes will not be an issue. I was told there needs to be some grinding or maching to make the shock fit in the linkage, so I need to investigate further on that as well. I have the BBR spring but still have problems with the back end swapping all around. The CR85 conversion is supposed to resolve this from what I here.

Re: KX100 shock on CRF150F?

I found this picture of the mod done to the CR85 shock clevis.

I finally got the CR85 shock installed on my son's bike and just need him to test ride it. We went with a 6.2 kg/mm spring rate which looks to give him (125 lb rider) the right statis and ride sag.

Re: KX100 shock on CRF150F?

^^^^ What's up 499! I'm making a deal on a 150F this week I believe. I decided to work with a 150f because it won't really need any engine work, or a frame cradle. The DRZ125 is a really cool bike, but quite slow, and that linkage shifter annoys me.

I bet I could have PR2 build me a Fox shock for this bike. --T
