| Adjusting the rear brake
Hey does anyone out there have a good DIY for adjusting the rear brake? It seems like there are some marks to align but I just can't for the life of me get it figured out. Thanks. |

My Mood: | Re: Adjusting the rear brake
the marks you see are not the brake adjustment. that is the chain adj. To adjust your brakes you need to thighten the nut at the end of your brake arm(w/the spring). that is the only adjustment you have for the rear brake. To adjust the chain you loosen the axle and w/10mm you adjust the nuts witch ever way you need(if chain is loose thighten) or if chain is tight then loosen. hope this helps Jason |

| Re: Adjusting the rear brake
I tried messing with the nut on the end of the rod and it definitely changed something. But not what I'm left with is a pedal that either hangs down really low but has no travel or a pedal thats nice and high but you have to press 4 inches down before anything happens. Everything was working fine before I took the rear wheel off to change a tube. It seems like the pinch bolt for the rod isn't indexed to the brake drum right. I need to get a service manual.
