changing oil...

Ok, so about the oil change, what oil should i use for the motor and which in the tranny? also which bolt is which?

i use 10w40 yamaha oil. i think the engine/tranny oil is the same

ok but do i drain them both?....cause i think i heard something about them being connected with just a screen between the two.

there is only one drain, it's the one closer to the right side of the engine, the other bolt on the bottom is a chain tensior for the cam chain. When you change the engine oil you change the tranny oil too because it is all in the same place.

its just the one drain bolt, the oil lubes up everything

any 10-40 motorcycle oil works great

Or if you can find some 10-40 motor oil thats not energy conserving (green little circle logo that says energy conserving) that works great too

go to a local motorcycle shop they will probably have the right oil.

ok, well i went up to auto zone and got 10-40 for motorcycles. thanks for the help, you guys are the best.
