stiff fork springs

so i got and installed some t3 "stiff" fork springs today, the description claimed its rated for a 160-180 pound rider and it raises the front end up an inch. it didnt raise it an inch and there still pretty soft, like im only 140lbs and they bottom out just pushing on the front end. o and are they supposed to be the same length as stock?

Re: stiff fork springs

It sounds like you need to raise the oil level and potentially go to a heavier weight oil. The higher level will reduce bottoming and the heavier oil will increase dampening.

Re: stiff fork springs

Yeah I bought some bbr stiff springs thinking that they would lift the front end and it didn't raise it one bit. It is noticeably stiffer though but I honestly liked it better when it was nice and soft. I wish I would have saved the money and got something else.

Re: stiff fork springs

i called up faster minis shortly after i posted the original mesage, they told me to ship em back and they'd swap em for the bbrs. installed them today, waaay better. one bbr and one stock felt like when i had both of the t3's

Re: stiff fork springs

They claim the 1" increase in travel because they have more preload and lift the front up some - no more travel than stock but it's not sagging and hanging down as much so... that's how they're trying to make that claim LOL

It's still whatever stock is...

I thought the BBR's rocked. Had them in my bike and I'm a big dude and they were way stiffer and way easier to ride with.
