Want to stunt your 50, read this (feel free to add as well)

G/F's brother just picked up a stocker so I wrote this to him, figured I might as well share it with everyone who's thinking of getting into stunting a stock 50. Feel free to add anything you think I've missed or places to get the parts cheaper.

All factory replacement parts - XR50 CRF50

TB Engine Parts - Honda Trail Bikes

Front Springs (a must have) - ESD Manufacturing, LLC - 50 Stunt

Rear Spring (a must have) - ESD Manufacturing, LLC - 50 Stunt

Other suspension parts (I'd leave the stock rear shock (replace spring only, replacing the shock is for MX'ers and is not good for playing around at all), if anything add good bushings and possibly extended fork legs like Sarah's bike, both of those are found on the following site) - ESD Manufacturing, LLC - 50 Stunt

Stunt Parts (Rear pegs are a must, hand brake is as well, 12 bar's are nice too even if you dont use them for their intended purpose (make it easier to have a passenger, helps save the plastics when you loop, strengthens your subframe, we dont use the 50 stunt one, we use a TurboGlen 12 bar, they are like 80shipped (half the price of 50 stunts bar) if you are interested let me know and I can hook you up with the guy) - ESD Manufacturing, LLC - 50 Stunt

Big bars (we are all running the Pro Taper setup (Pro Taper CRF50 Pro Taper Kit - oemcycle.com), but 50 Stunt has a setup ESD Manufacturing, LLC - 50 Stunt (priced a little lower (199 vs 189) that I've heard good things about too, plus if you put in multiple items you'll get a break on the shipping, he sells everything from the TB engines I posted above to big bars, so you might save money and head ache putting as big of an order through ESD (50stunt.com) as possible.

Street Tires - you have two choices if you want street tires (a must for circle wheelies and technical tricks as the knobs will cause you to eat it if you get leaned over), option A is IIRC MB38's IRC MB38 Scooter Tire at BikeBandit.com (about 15 a tire, 99% of people use these including Mitch's bike and mine (Sarah's will too when heres wear out), or option B is 50 stunt sells the high end Pirrelis ESD Manufacturing, LLC - 50 Stunt which work good but they are over twice the price of the MB38's.

Brake Shoes - The stockers are okay but they'll fade and they are marginal for someone our size, these replacement shoes are way better and last way longer (15 per wheel) Classic Honda Z50,XR50, CRF50, CT70, XR70, CRF70 AND XR100 motorcycles and performance parts Takegawa and Kitaco bore kits carb kits racing parts and performance mufflers. part number P817

Also, www.planetminis.com has a forum with a classified section, if you are looking to do things on the cheap and want to pick up some used parts I've had good luck there, just remember that most things are used and that there is a chance you'll get burned.

If it were my bike the order would go like this:

Round 1: Front/Rear springs, Big Bar Kit, Street Tires
Round 2: Rear Stunt Pegs, Handbrake Kit, Brake Shoes, 88cc engine
Round 3: 12 Bar, eBay replacement plastics (if you want to change colors), Sprockets/Chain (depending on engine setup).

Re: Want to stunt your 50, read this (feel free to add as well)

big bars are a must on any 50 unless your a midget or have 1 foot long legs or like riding it with your knees bucked out to the side so far that you look like a clown show

you dont even need springs my buddy is 230 pounds still stunting his stocker for years and hasnt bent the frame, the pegs, nothing....yeah sure he is bottoming the shock out just by sitting on the bike haha but still it works for stunting, just as long as your not catching air

Id go with big bar for sure, then rear/front pegs, maybe the rear handbrake kit, then the 88 kit, then suspension

I think raising up a 50 with +1 fork legs and picking up at a used ishock makes it more comfortable to ride.

But what you end up getting really comes down to how much money you have to spend on it.

I got the bbr h/d stock length springs, I like them a lot. I like to be closer to stock size.

You have to get in contact with him and have him make you one, good luck I've not saw him on here in quite a while. He makes some really nice stuff tho for sure, he has a lot of talent.

There's lots of good info on here man, you will pick things up as you go along just like anything else. I think turboglenn is now on another forum, I can't remember which. I'd go with 50stunt for all my parts tho, out of all the companies making things ryan makes the best I've saw. Not knocking Glenns parts he's just hard to get in contact with. If you're just starting out I wouldn't worry about a 12 bar it would probably just get in the way more than help you, I'd get a hand brake and a set of pegs. I've actually thought about taking my 12 bar off mine a few times. I just scrape it from time to time.

Re: Want to stunt your 50, read this (feel free to add as well)

i agree with the above post. I have a big bar kit and street tires, no issues holding wheelies. Granted yes stiffer suspension/pegs etc are nice but not required. Just buy some street tires and a big bar kit (BBR is my personal fav and cheaper than the rest). If its your first 50, i say buy used cause stuff is going to break/scratch just my .02
