| What to do on stunt bike?
hi im buying a 2003 crf 50 and looking to put a chinese engine in it. i want it for stunting but i dont know what engine to buy. ive heard i should buy a semi auto and install a left hand brake lever for the rear to make stunting easier and less troublesome. can anybody give me some advice on what i should buy? im looking at either a 110cc or 125cc chinese engine. i look foward to all advice and hope to be on here soon with some pics of the build. thank you! |

Stunt it stock with gearing or 88kit. I know there are a few people using 125's but auto is the way to go. Check out 50stunt.com for everything you need.

ill definetly buy an auto when i decide what size engine to get. do a lot of people install a brake lever for the rear instead of using the foot brake pedal? oh one more question. will i have to change the rear sprocket if i get either a 125 or 88? if so does renthal or vortex make sprockets for this size bike? | |

your best bet for sure is to get a used honda motor and stunt it stock or with an 88cc bore kit

I'd look around here on the classifieds and find a used honda motor, They will out last any china motor you will find and are great for stunting in stock form.

Booooooo on china motors, a Honda will out run, live, etc any china motor!!! Honda's are BULLET-PROOF!!! Find a used one on ebay or here and maybe put an 88cc kit on it. Personally 110cc or bigger is too much just for stuntn and playn around. I run a bone stock 50cc honda engine and i have no problems with any stunts or whatever. Leave that full clutch for the big bikes and what not

Let us know how it works out for you. Also get the 50 stunt handbrake kit so you have both hand and foot rear brake.

I dont mean to put anybody out but you cant ask for personal pref., .....you dont get a hand brake to use it instead of your foot, you get a hand brake for doing high chairs, seat standers, etc. tricks that are not possible to use your foot brake.... If your new to stunting/ riding get a stocker and just learn it, then you will learn to stunt

I find it way easier to stunt an 88 over the stock 50 The torque on the 88 makes it effortless to bring the front end up where on the stock 50 you have to actually try to raise it |

dratv.com for all oem hardware and it takes skill to stunt a stocker. As for using both brakes you only need a handbrake if your foot is off the peg. I rely too much on my handrake sometimes.

I don't really rely on it so much as I used to, but I don't use my foot brake hardly at all unless I need to make a really fast stop. It just feels way more comfortable to me to pull the handbrake, since I'm feathering it a lot on long wheelies and circles. I've not actually got to stunt in a long while since I've moved there's no where to really do it, I've rode some long wheelies and a couple high chairs but that's it. I've dialed my handbrake in way better tho. A lot of people do get too dependent on the handbrake, just learn throttle control first, get a handbrake later when you start doing things that require more brake control like circles or things that you can't get to the foot brake like high chairs special k's. |
