| 1970 SL70 Engine Completely Rebuilt
I have a 1970 sl70 engine that is completely rebuilt. I had it rebuilt to use on my '98 z50 for a street legal project, but i have lost interest and since bought a 91 ct70. The engine has been completely disassembled and every nut and bolt has been gone over. The cases were split and everything was glass beaded and the necessary parts were painted. Every hole was tapped and bolt die'd. The bottom end was gone through and rebuilt using the original gears, the clutch was rebuilt, cylinder was bored 2nd over (.5mm), cylinder head was completley gone through, valves lapped, new keepers and new stem seal, a new did cam chain, new oil seals, carb was gone through and rebuilt. This is a show quality rebuild, the only thing that is not original is the cases were put back together with allen head screws instead of phillips, and the flywheel cover has been cut-out where the counter shaft is. The valves have been set, it has spark and compression, carb is good, but i have not run the motor. I havent had time to finish it in months. All it needs is a kickstarter seal and a round cam cover. Other than those small things it is ready to go. It includes the intake and carb, and airbox, clutch and throttle cable, and coil. I would like $250 plus shipping for it. If there is any interest i can get some pics. If not i will eventually finish it and put it on ebay. My email is bass-taper@hotmail.com Last edited by 1998 Honda Z125R; 06-09-2009 at 06:57 PM. |

I looked at the engine the other day and it all it needs is a cam cover ((the one on it is off of an 05 crf70 and is not included)) and the hold-down bracket for the neutral light/safety switch. It has all new seals in it, and has no leaks. I started it up, it has very good compression, idles fine, but still needs to be broken in properly and then have everything re-adjusted. I already set the valve lash, set the points, and the cam has been set. So it is ready to be broken in. The kicker and shifter are not included. I also have the original airbox that goes with it, and throttle and clutch cables.

Going to be put on ebay soon. I would rather sell it to someone here for a little less and let them finish it.
