I am building a Minitrail to stunt, but it has the K0 style handlebars. Does anybody have the top triple tree plate laying around that comes off a later (79-90?) Z? I just need the top plate so that I can get some clamps for it and run BMX bars.

Will that top bolt right up? If so I will have to bid. It's already got the bar mount and everything.

I was thinking about doing the same thing as you(changine the triple tree plate) but wasnt sure on what would work... Dunno if this will work also, maybe e-mail the seller & ask for measurements?... Lemme know if its gonna work for ya so I know what to look for..

any 79-87 z50 or atc70 top clamp will bolt right on and allow you to use any wider base bmx bars like the pro taper(7") or writz bars(8"). You could of course just run stock 79-87 Z50 bars, 88 zb50 bars, or any atc / trx bars. With any of these bars you have a huge selection of levers, throttles, and bar ends since they are all 7/8" bars. I run an ATC70 top clamp with real BMX bars on my '72 Z50, and I have 97 Z50 Bars and top clamp on a Z50 I am selling. Pretty much all Z50 parts are compatible. You can use stock triples and just bolt on 79-87 z50 bar mounts if you want.

Damn!! Thats great news to me.... So will a top triple clamp like bbr for xr50/crf50 work also?

not even close. the legs are about 33mm too close together and have entirely too much offset. You can get the bar clamps from honda new for a decent price and bolt them right onto your stock triple of fast 50's makes a billet triple for the z50 and atc70.
