looking for a heat shield that goes over the exhaust/muffler in front of the number plate on the right side of the bike, which means the part would probably come off a 1980-1987 model. Prior to 1980, there was no number plate on the right side. After 1987, there were no oval number plates. Looking for one in chrome (1986 chrome special z50rd), probably impossible to find, would consider a painted one and will paint it high heat silver. see attached .jpeg with exploded diagram of the part. I think I still have my heat shield that came off a 93 z50.Will that work?

yes possibly if the correct part. see attached, note the area outlined in red cloud. chrome would be great, painted OK, can paint it high heat silver

Nope different shields. You need 80 to 89.
