+1 on Minimob. They actually answer their phone. When I ordered something and it was on back order they let me know right away instead of just taking my money and leaving me in the dark for 6 months. On everything I wanted they were the cheapest price so that helps as well. Don't worry whats listed on their website. I own an Nsr50 and when I called he said if its in their catalogues they can get it. They have a guy that speaks Japanese so I just told them which page I found it on and they ordered it up.

Question Re: best place to get parts

Why is it so much money to buy things in Canada. I mean some of the prices for things here are just ridiculous. But then a few things seem to be about the same as buying them from the United States why is this.

depends on when the distributor bought the parts how our dollar compared to the american dollar. then factor in shipping and border costs such as duties and brokerage, and there you have your higher prices. not as bad on some parts , if they can bring them in direct to canada instead of using the states as the "middleman".

another factor is there is a larger market in the states because there is just a whole lot more people down there. so an american company might be ordering in much higher quantities bringing there prices down even more.

honestly guys just buy from a company in the states. You will save yourself a crap load of money. Just get them to ship is USPS and you will be set. I have used most of the vendors on here and shipping is never a problem. PLus you cant be the american pricing.

Re: best place to get parts

First of all, minimob has low prices compared to US companies. This is because as mentioned before ordering Japanese parts through the states means you have to pay double duties and excessive shipping costs. But thats not the point. The point is that the Canadian companies support Canadian racing. Pitbike and minibike popularity in Canada did not come out of nothing. Lots of people put lots of time and money into growing the sport. You can send your money down to the states so that those companies can sponsor their local clubs and events or you can keep it on this side of the border and more and more people locally get in to the sport which you enjoy. The choice is up to you.

Apparently you haven't been building or riding minis for that long. I'll stick with my American companies and will continue to tell people to do the same. I checked out there prices and its still cheaper to buy from the states. Plus you can get more then what they offer.

If you get them to ship USPS and mark it as a gift you do not pay duties. They might get you one every twenty but for the most part you never pay them.

You say that local companies help grow the sport... yet most of them in Canada are whats wrong with the sport. They charge out the a$$ for parts and you have to wait a long time to get said parts. Thanks to companies like BBR, five-o, sik 50s, fast50s and PowerSportsStore.com we had a chance to grow the sport up here.
