This is a pic i got off the internet of a ported Autoboy 50cc cylinder (Notice the difference)

49cm3 LOL. Sleeper...should be wheelie, wheelie fun.
So are you going to get the ports cleaned up or is it okay as is?

Why does it need a smaller plug/threaded adapter?

Nice transmission.

Re: Autoboy 72cc highpower bbk

ported? there isnt much porting going on there. looks pretty sloppy honestly. how about that huge ding in the exhaust bridge? it doesnt look like the ports are filed so the rings dont catch either. casting flash everywhere ... the cylinder head isn't blended ... i hope you got a killer deal on it.

has anyone tried to find those gap-less plugs ... the flat ones ... damn i cant remember what theyre called BAH

Er...Intake bridge I think you meant, but was going to say the same thing, doesn't look like it's been honed as there is no 45 degree crosshatching?!! Not sure why they don't have additional ports from the intake to the transfers done either? I guess it'll make a good starting point, not expensive I'd hope!!

Here's a kit for the 50cc engine I'd pay big bucks for!! Just work with modifying the stock porting and it would be awesome!!

What does the cross transmission kit do? What kinda improvements over stock are we looking at?

Improved acceleration..........You get to a given speed in considerably less time.

The idea is to bring your gear ratios closer together at higher speeds so that you have a better gear choice for corners, hills and better acceleration at those higher speeds, if your sprockets are matched to suit.

It does mean though that you sacrifice first usually and so it's taller in ratio. The so the bike ends up a little slow at first but then goes quick thereafter.

Interesting....So, from a standing start, how much time if any, going from 0-60 if you factor in the "slower" start?

Couldnt tell you the specifics,I would assume like all the other Japanese hardware there are but a handful in the US,The Takegawa Cross Mission(Retail $400.00+usd) is getting hard to find,The Kitaco is much more prevalent but also more expensive(Retail $600.00+) and more aggressive (Even closer ratios) You are really banging out the first three gears Bam Bam Bam.I will post ratios for the Stock/Takegawa/and Kitaco when i get a chance.......Kitaco> http://translate.google.com/translate?js=y&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bike.ne.jp%2Fshopping%2Fkitac o%2Fkitako_216.htm&sl=ja&tl=en&history_state0=. Don't worry about me fella, I've got 4 NSR's, 1 MH80, 2 MBX's, 1 Solo 50, 1 Dream 50 and 1 CRF/RVF150 to mess with so keeps one very busy with all the projects! Plus I'm not much of a bolt on queen, usually prefer to make my own stuff, so it does take much longer than ordering out of a catalogue.

Just to keep you happy, here's one of my runners which I made all the bodywork from carbon, sprayed and stickered as well as the alloy chain guard. Pictures from back in 1998 so hadn't fitted the TTS stuff as I was racing it at the time, until it went back on the road.

At the moment I have a brand new 2003 motor to replace the 94 motor and a set of RS125 wheels to fit. The designs for the new bodywork will be awesome and with the 33mm carb and new 13k peak power pipes it'll be a total missile!!

Depends on final drive ratios and the type of powerband you have.

A powerful bigbore bike with a wide rpm powerband might be better off with wider spaced ratios as every gearshift costs time unless you're running a quickshifter. With a narrow band 50cc bike the opposite could be the case where the closer ratios keep you within the narrow rpm powerband.

If you're racing a close ratio gearbox is for sure a good thing!

Re: Autoboy 72cc highpower bbk

As far as the close gearbox goes, it has two advantages. First of all it keeps the ratios closer so you are not stuck where one gear is too high and one gear is too low. This really helps once you go to the peakier race pipes or big bore kits. Second of all it gets rid of the short first gear that although helps for street use is useless on the track. If you look at the ratios you will see the close ratio first gear is very close to the street second gear so the next time you are at the track try launching the bike in second instead of first. This will let you feel the difference.

Re: Autoboy 72cc highpower bbk

back to the original post, cool BBK, but im sry to say that is the worst bore job ive ever seen, and even though thats a intake bridge that should be smoothed just a tad inward due to heat. If not as it expands since its a small space it will press into the piston. I would hope your going to run a quick hone onto it.

Thanks,I have had the kit for a while and was getting mixed reviews from those local to me(Everyone had a different opinion) so i posted the pics ,Some were of the position that it wasnt a beauty contest and others stated your position that it was inherently flawed,I sent pics this morning to the guy who is working on my 70cc Malossi cylinder and am waiting to hear what he has to say,The pics are a little harsh and you can actually see more detail when it is in your hand.............I should get a response from my guy soon and will post his thoughts..........

You want to be careful in cleaning up the cylinder that you don't get too much clearance between it and the piston. If you don't mind spending a little cash I would recommend sending it off to millenium for a nikisil coating. Just send the piston off with the cylinder to get the proper clearance. Then you'll have some purdy pictures to post.

Like I mentioned......don't worry about me fella!

As in many markets we're not allowed the big toys, so we tend to specialize at the small.

Here's another "gleaned off the internet" pic for ya, a mates this time with a singlesider conversion we'd fitted in 01. I've still got 80yds of carbon and another single sider kit sitting in a box.......for project NR150R..... when I find the time!!
