Baja Designs will make a modified light kit...

I just got off the phone with Chris from Baja Designs. He is wondering if anyone with a honda NSR 50 lives near them in California so they can put together a modified light kit for us!!!
Someone please help and bring there bike by, whether or not the light kit is in doesn't matter. So they can see the set up and recommend the best combination!

Thanks guys,

Keith

The contact at Baja is Chris, he has been amazingly helpful with everything!!!!! Call him and find out the details.
According to Googlemaps you are only about 35-45 min away. They will retro fit something for us Honda NSR people!

Re: Baja Designs will make a modified light kit...

Cool

If this helps, I use an XR100 (12" wheel version) headlamp and it uses a 25w x 25w bulb. Also, let him know which kit we typically use for our conversion (kick start).

It would be real cool if Baja Designs crafted a rear tail/brake, turn signal and plate mount specific to the NSR.

With the current Baja Designs rear fender assy (w/ brake/tail, turn signal and plate mount), I hacked (cut) it up quite a bit so I can mount a box for tools/accessories. It would be cool if they can incorporate something alike with the rear tail light assy.....there is plenty of room. If need be, I can provide them with pics and general measurements.

The best place for a real battery is the JDM inner fender...........

like_the_martian, If you talk to Chris, If it helps, I can take pix of how I have their 12-1300-WT harness kit routed and wired. Just let me know or if Chris wants to talk to me personally, PM me and I can provide you my contact info.

Also, please inquire with Chris if they can make and include a bracket to mount their rear brake switch to the inside of the brake side rear set. This is the item I need to mount to use their rear brake switch.....unless I fab one for myself.

Run a banjo bolt with the built in switch that uses pressure from your rear brake line to trigger the rear brake circuit. Voila, no need for any brackets to mount a switch

Will it work the same if I installed the switch to the rear brake pump vs the rear calipur?

If yes, I did think about it. Also, I looked at my CBR150 to see what it uses (has disc front and rear) and to my surprise, it uses a mechanical switch, similar to the one issued with the Baja Designs kit.

You want to run the switch at the rear master and not down by the caliper. You can't go wrong with either method. The hyd. brake switch is just easier to install the next time you go to change out your brake fluid.
