Chester's NSR50 for Mod-50 class

I'm currently racing in a NSR mod-50 class with my local club in Oregon.
Its so much FUN but I'm having some troubles.
The only other people on NSR's are small, 11ish or 12ish year old girls, and they are fast. Aside from being fast, they only weigh about half as much as I do, which in turn allows the to accelerate quite a bit faster than me.
I can keep up with them fairly well through the turns but once we hit any kind of straightaway they are gone.
So, I've decided to do some mods to give myself a better chance at keeping up with them.

Here are my class specifications:
* Engine displacement limit: 52cc.
* Must use stock engine cases, aftermarket cylinder are allowed.
* Any tires are allowed.
* Exhaust system modifications are open. (Must have efficient silencer).
* Wheel base, frame and swing arm modifications are open.
* Brake system modifications are open.
* Restricted engine modifications:
o Aftermarket cranks allowed.
o Must retain OEM ignition.
o No lightening of internal engine parts or flywheel.
o All other modifications are open.

Here are my ideas of what Im going to do:
-Get forks reworked, (most likely by Ray)
-Aftermarket pipe (thinking a pipe from Billy Wiese @ WRW Racing)
-Some sort of port work, and head mods (thinking Billy Wiese @ WRW Racing)
-Maybe bigger carb?
-Maybe new reed valves?

I'm open to any other ideas or suggestions any of you may have!

Re: Chester's NSR50 for Mod-50 class

I just talked to him this morning too.
And were going to talk again later today about some mods.

I was just trying to see what others had to say.
Two or three or whatever heads are better than one...

When it comes to the NSR's maybe not.....I dont think there are alot of people (If any)that have actually tried the stuff he has like V-Force reed valves in a NSR cylinder(It dosent work there isnt enough room for the reeds to open all the way) etc etc...........

Re: Chester's NSR50 for Mod-50 class

Mod ideas sound good. I actually bought my first NSR from a guy that raced with the PKA and was class winner in mod 50. I still have the PKA sticker on my tail section. You may just have to face facts that there are some kids that you are simply not going to be able to catch on a 50.

I'm well aware of the facts...
I just want to have more fun.
Its hard to call it racing when you are half a lap back, all by yourself with no chance of catching up unless they crash...that's how I won the last race!! She crashed and I won

Re: Chester's NSR50 for Mod-50 class

If you sold off that NSR50 for two grand-- you could buy my Metrakit. You WILL be able to chase those little chicks on NSR's down with it. It can be shipped to you for about $300, and with the longer tail section that bolts right on-- you'll have more room than what you have on your NSR. If you're interested, PM me. --L*64
